Acne Scar Treatment – Get Rid Of Scars Forever!

By Susie J.

How to Remove Painful Acne Fast

Acne scars can be very embarrassing and can greatly diminish one’s self esteem. In general, acne is considered as skin disease and it can lead to permanent damage on the skin. Hence, it is extremely important that people suffering from acne scarring must find the most effective acne scar treatment that they can get. Generally, acne scaring requires a series of treatments, ranging from three to six, done once in every three weeks.

Generally, the most common acne scar treatment includes the application of micro-needling and intense pulsed light to eliminate any brown or red pigmentation at the affected areas surrounding the acne scarring. This kind of treatment has various benefits and can make the healing process faster. Moreover, this kind of procedure is safe and can be used by most people. However, it is best to consult a dermatologist first before deciding to use microneedling or pulsed light technology.

If the acne treatment procedure does not prove effective, the doctor may also prescribe topical treatments like Retin-A, Renova, Bactrim or Isotretinoin. These treatments consist of vitamins A, C and E as well as steroids. They are applied directly on the acne scar wounds to accelerate the healing process. However, this is a temporary solution and these treatments are only effective for mild to moderate acne scars.

When the acne scar treatment does not yield positive results, doctors may resort to dermal fillers or injectable gels. In dermal fillers, the doctor will inject a filler into the spot where the damaged tissue is. The dermal filler will then create a deep crater that is later filled with a filling agent. This procedure is known as dermal fillers. Some of the popular dermal fillers used include Restylane, Collagen and Cymetra.

Laser treatments are also used to significantly reduce acne scar scars. There are two types of laser treatments available – fractional and continuous wave. Fractional laser treatment is a continuous wave laser that gradually produces energy over time, causing the top layer of skin to slowly fade away. Continuous wave laser treatment, on the other hand, causes the top layer of dead skin cells to harden and turn into collagen. As a result, the damaged area looks smoother and gets rid of the dark spots more quickly.

Finally, there are chemical peels. Chemical peels work best for those acne scars that are discolored in nature and have not received any form of treatment so far. Chemical peels work by gently removing the top layer of the affected area and exposing the healthy, unaffected skin underneath. It is usually performed on patients suffering from mild to moderate scars and does not lead to permanent disfigurement.
