How To Protect Your Skin With Right Skincare Routine

By Susie J.

Skin care is the collection of practices that support skin health, improve its physical appearance and alleviate skin disorders. Skin care includes prevention of damage from environmental factors, exposure to sun, wind and cold, proper use of moisturizers and protection from infections. Skin problems like acne, dry skin, aging signs and wrinkles are all treated effectively using skin care. Skin care can be achieved by using cleansers, toners, moisturizers, make-up etc. Proper and sufficient amount of sleep, diet and physical exercises also help in skin care. Skin problems like rosacea, psoriasis, eczema and acne are common among women.

There are different types of skin care for different age groups. As you get older you may want to concentrate on getting your collagen levels in check, and this will happen as you age. You may also want to avoid exposure to the sun’s radiation. Women over the age of thirty tend to go for a regular cleansing routine which may include washing with warm water and soft soap at least thrice a day.

Along with this routine you may also want to include cleansing with retinol products. Retinol or vitamin A, helps in strengthening collagen fibers. Women in their late twenties and thirties often go for exfoliation, which involves removing dead skin cells and putting cream on the affected areas. Exfoliation can also help in reducing the appearance of wrinkles. It is advisable to exfoliate only at least once in a week.

The skin care routine for daily moisturizing involves washing with warm water, applying cream or lotion and then gently wiping off with towel. This routine should be done twice, or at least thrice daily to maintain the moisture in the skin. Some women also like to add a pinch of lemon juice to their warm water to make it more pleasant. This makes the skin feel naturally oilier and more moisturized.

Apart, from these routines the skin care routine includes daily moisturizing and exfoliation, cleansing with a cleanser and finally washing away with warm water. Again it is advisable to do this twice daily. If there are blemishes or spots on the skin, they can be treated using a topical cream containing salicylic acid. You can also get these creams over the counter, as well as in various beauty stores.

The natural ingredients found in many skin care products help to improve skin health and make your skin look younger. The use of natural ingredients also helps to prevent the development of various skin care problems like aging spots, wrinkles etc. If you use all natural ingredients along with a regular skin care routine, you can improve the appearance of your skin, without undergoing surgery or injections. So start using these ingredients and enjoy the beautiful skin you have always wanted.
