Mistakes to Avoid With Korean Skin Care Products

By Susie J.

Korean Skin Care Products

Choosing the right, Korean skin care treatment is not always easy. Many people make the same mistakes that make their skin look aged and dull. This can put not only your money and time to waste but also damage your skin. There are a few basic rules of thumb that will help you pick the right product. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with the Korean skincare options available or if you’ve tried several products in hopes of locating an effective solution but are unsure whether you’re doing the routine correctly, called on professionals for tips on how to maximize your results and how to avoid the most common Mistakes.

The most obvious mistake that most people make when choosing Korean skin care products is using only one moisturizer. Yes, moisturizers are an important part of any regimen and this one is a staple. You should, however, have two moisturizers, one for day and one for night. Most people only have one at night. Use both during the day and nighttime to protect your skin from the damaging effects of the sun.

Another common mistake is using too many sheet masks. Sheet masks can be helpful for getting rid of dead skin cells and other pollutants that accumulate in your pores and cause pimples and other beauty care issues. However, it’s not advisable to include too much in your regimen. As much as possible, you should stick with two sheet masks a week for better overall results.

Not using the best ingredients is another big mistake. Most Korean skin care products are made with natural ingredients and using them can be helpful but there are some brands like brands with questionable ingredients. One of these questionable ingredients is mineral oil. It is the ingredient that makes your face feel too greasy and sticky, thus most beauty experts advise not to use it. It can clog the pores and can also cause breakouts.

There are a few brands of Korean skin care products that also contain alcohols. While some alcohols are actually good for your health, others are not. The kind of alcohol that you should avoid is the paraffin one and the glycerin-based moisturizers. They can cause dryness and flakiness. Instead, go for grape seed oil and witch hazel.

Most k-beauty products contain SPF. This is again a false claim. Although it does provide sun protection, the SPF in them does nothing to reduce wrinkles or other aging signs. Go for a sunscreen that contains more natural ingredients like grape seed oil and avocado oil.
